Are you a FAILURE? It’s NOT such a bad thing!

The number 1 cause of death each year is . . .

the FEAR of FAILURE!

Most of us are so terrified of failing! The fear of failure causes more deaths each year than any other dis-ease. Yes, really it does. It causes the death of dreams – your dreams, everyone’s dreams. – I know that killer well.

No matter whether you take the risk or if you play it safe – you will experience failure in your life. Yet, your real strength is having the understanding that you will survive – even though at times you may wonder.

Failure stretches you beyond your conscious capacity so that you can grow into your authentic self – this is failure’s generous gift to you. Failing at something in your life isn’t the worst that can happen. Real failure is never having tried.

Take time to really listen to your heart – write down those dreams; visualize what they look like; create a plan to see them into fruition. NOTE: one thing I’ve learned along the way, (others can confirm this as well) be careful with whom you share your dreams, there are a lot of dream crushers out there in your world. So carefully select one or two people and share your dream, see how they react – are they excited for you? do they support you? can they help you? If not, you may want to find a mentor – someone who’s done something similar and ask them to be your mentor. Or you may want to hire a coach – coaches provide objective views, nudge you along, and support you along in the process.

I encourage you to be courageous – take the risk and allow yourself to fail. What is the worst thing that can happen anyway – a bruised ego, a little humility? So when you fail, make adjustments and try again – you are probably on to the “next best thing!” And by the way, you wouldn’t be reading this on your computer or via a light bulb without a few failures that happened along the way to provide you with so many wonderful things we often take for granted.

“Success is most often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.”
    – Coco Chanel

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison

“Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a  temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.” – Denis Waitley

Don’t wait any longer, go out there and take that risk; be patient, be persistent and be disciplined in your dreams – you’ll probably surprise yourself.
