Moving on . . . to 2019
Here we are at the end of 2018 – how’s your year wrapping up?
For many it has been the best year yet – new jobs, making more money, births, marriages, and more delightful happenings. For others, their worst year ever – job loss, financial challenges, divorce, death, political discord, business failures and other struggles. Perhaps your year has been a combination of good and not so good!
That’s the way it is every year – sometimes it’s a great year and other times, not so much and then the combo years!
To have a better year in 2019, create a plan of what you would like to achieve then add some action steps you can take to get you there. Do you need to do this today or on New Year’s Eve or January 1st? No, you don’t, but I suggest that you do it before the end of January.
If this feels like too much of a challenge you may want to enlist the help of a coach, organize a MasterMind group or get an accountability partner – any of these options will help you stay focused and have some accountability. Being accountable to your plan will give you more successes.
I did that this year; I joined a virtual networking group and a virtual marketing group. Being in the marketing group has helped me focus on things that I needed to be doing, but wasn’t plus, it offered me the opportunity to do other things that I’d not done before – create a social media marketing plan for the year! Yep, it’s completed.
This month marks the 7th year that I’ve been in a MasterMind group with the same three ladies – we started out with six people, meeting quarterly for three years, took a year off, regrouped and now meet weekly via Zoom. There’s a level of trust with these ladies that is rarely found elsewhere – we brainstorm ideas for solutions to the dilemmas that are brought up, provide unquestionable support and are true friends.
As you make your plans for 2019, I hope these suggestions will give you some ideas that you can and will implement for your success.
Also – a reminder to review your 2018 year and write down your accomplishments. You might want to start a new habit of writing down your accomplishments daily, weekly or monthly. As humans we tend to focus more on what did NOT go right rather than what did! It is much more inspiring to focus on the good things. Create a system that works best for you; perhaps a journal that you keep in your desk that you pull out at the end of the work day and write down all the “things that went right today,” a document in your Word file, an app or a journal at bedtime. These accomplishments don’t have to be just about work – our personal lives need noting too!
Wishing you and your family a fun, yet peaceful holiday season filled with laughter and joy!
Oh by the way, during December I’ve been participating in a challenge in my marketing group – to do Facebook live videos – check them out – a wide range of topics: Facebook Page
One more thing – if you’d like to know more about how to organize and run a MasterMind group – send me an email and I will send you a handout that describes the process.
Thank you for your support this year and throughout the years that you’ve been kindly reading my newsletter – I am very grateful!
